Nestled deep in the woods, Shadow Falls is a secret camp where teens with supernatural powers learn to harness their abilities and live in the normal world.  But Shadow Falls is facing a problem that could finally expose them to the rest of the world.  Humans are showing up dead, and rogue vampires may be to blame.

Camp resident Della Tsang, who’s still coming into her own vampire powers, is assigned to help find those responsible. If she succeeds, maybe she’ll even land her dream job: working for the F.R.U., the enforcers of the supernatural world.  But when she sees that her new partner is a hunky shapeshifter, things get complicated.  Steve, too gorgeous to be trusted and capable of seeing through her tough-as-nails exterior, knows just how to get under her skin.  And only hours into the mission, Della realizes rogue vampires aren’t the only threat she’s facing. If she’s ever going to complete her assignment, she’ll need his help…but learning to trust him will be her hardest challenge yet.

Della has always been a favorite of mine when it comes to the characters that C.C. hunter has created in the world of the Shadow Falls Series. Yupp. I even like her more than Kelsey sometimes. Then again Miranda also sometimes beats them both... I think I am getting of track. ALL OF THEM ROCK MY SOCKS. But Della's character is one I have always wanted to learn more about.

These novellas have been my savior in between the main Shadow Falls books. Giving readers a deeper look into Della's world and getting to watch her grow as a person through her own eyes rather than Kelsey's.

Della kicks ass. No doubt about that. She is Snarky, sharp witted, Bitchy in the- you still can't help but love her kinda way- and just plain awesome.

In Saved at Sunrise readers get to see a whole new side to Della. a softer side. Though she would kick me in the shins for saying so! Oh Della, Della. JUST GIVE IN!

This story gave me just enough to hold me over till the Final installment of the series.. and yet. I will still always want more. I guess it's a good thing there is a freaking awesome Della related surprise at the end of the series huh ;) Oh wait.. some of you may not know about that yet huh? ... muahahahaha.

Basically, if you like Della's character, you are going to love these novellas!

Rating: 4/5 Stars! .. Though this may just because one thing I wanted to happen.. hasn't happened... yet.

James Dashner

The Death Cure written by James Dashner No, really, what did I read and why ?  James Dashner, what, what, what are you doing?  There are a few cool reveals along the way, but as far as books go, this was not a satisfying conclusion to a trilogy.  We get answers, but the one thing I wanted to know most of all (Thomas' past) remains a mystery.  It felt like most of this book was pointless action that dragged on for no reason, so even though there were things happening, it felt like nothing was happening at all.  The plot was not advanced.  It was violence for the sake of violence.  Theresa and Thomas were, at this point, the only two characters I cared about, and Teresa barely showed up at all in the entirety of the story.  The ending was rushed, and yes, I enjoyed the few twists we got at the very  end (the last page ), but come on.  This was a story that needed answers and plot twists and instead, we got epic battle scenes that I didn't ...

The Van Alen Legacy

The Van Alen Legacy written by Melissa de la Cruz So, I'd firstly like to address the fact that this is not the last book of the series . I don't know why I was led to believe that it was, but let me tell you, it is a huge disappointment to read a book and discover that the saga is still not over when you've finished. I kind of just want to see this series end. I stand by what I said last time, I'm in it for the plot. I do have to commend de la Cruz, as I thought her writing had definitely improved significantly in this book. But it's still a lot of "ooh, look how fancy we are" and not that much substance, and what substance it does have, it moves excruciatingly slowly. I did feel like a lot of what happened, happened too conveniently, too much like wish fulfillment for all of the characters, tied up way too nicely. I'm still sick of the fact that Jack Force...exists. I do suppose that the fact that I feel so strongly about the characters mea...
