15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 8 )

8. Quick! Write 15 bullet points of things that appeal to you on blogs! Holy cow! 15?! 15!? o.O  1. Design: I get frustrated with blogs that are just slapped together. Super basic templates are used with no attempt to personalize them. Glaring white backgrounds, blockyness. Blech. I get it for the first chunk of time as you are learning the ropes. Mine probably looked ridiculous as I tried out new things. But other bloggers are so friendly and willing to give "how to" tips! There is also tons of info on the web to help! Personalize it, make it clean, make it something people enjoy looking at.  That was kinda the negative version huh? well.. erm... flip that all and then you will have what I like! Personality, color, appeal.  2. non white backgrounds. Sometimes the white can be ok. But personally. I get a headache after awhile. I like blogs that have color :)  3. Reviews! I love blogs that have alot of reviews! Not Just memes and promos! I hate seeing blogs that are j...

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 5 )

5. Recommend a tear jerker.  This book chronicles the unforgettable account of one of the most severe child abuse cases in California history. It is the story of Dave Pelzer, who was brutally beaten and starved by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother: a mother who played tortuous, unpredictable games--games that left him nearly dead. He had to learn how to play his mother's games in order to survive because she no longer considered him a son, but a slave; and no longer a boy, but an "it." Dave's bed was an old army cot in the basement, and his clothes were torn and raunchy. When his mother allowed him the luxury of food, it was nothing more than spoiled scraps that even the dogs refused to eat. The outside world knew nothing of his living nightmare. He had nothing or no one to turn to, but his dreams kept him alive--dreams of someone taking care of him, loving him and calling him their son. This story is not for the faint of heart. Seriously. It is brutally hone...

15 Day Book Blogging Challenge ( Day 4 )

4. What's the last book you flung across the room? I've never really been a thrower. Oh I have imagined it many a time, but I could never actually do it!  Here are some of the different ways I react to books ( When I am not happy )  A . Dissapointment: When A book is simply letting me down and not living up to it's potential I close the book ( or the cover on my nook ) , set my hand on top of it, and shake my head sadly.  D . The Lover's cry: When a couple should be together, but isn't. Or Shouldn't be, but is. I Hold my hands out and just sob a little.. * why... why.... WHY?*  C . Heartbroken: Now we are near the top of my wrung. When the author does something to their characters that is just... devastating.  Kiera Cass was the last one to do this to me. A Scene in The Elite with one of my favorite characters. I just... I couldn't believe what was happening.  The Book Sits in my hands, still open. I stare at my walls, trying to understand... what...ju...

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 3 )

To see my response to #1 go HERE. #2 HERE.  3. Who are your Blogging BFFs? This is kinda a hard one for me. Not because I can't think of any. But because there are a couple Awesome bloggers who I feel I was close to, but now am not.  Katie From Katie's Book Blog , Anna From Literary Exploration and Jessirae from Words, Pages and Books .  These girls are amazing! Not only are their blogs amazing, but they have awesome taste in books and are always willing to answer questions!  It's my fault that we drifted. I got caught up in my life and wasn't on Twitter much, and my blog was also pushed to the side. I hope they can forgive me for disappearing and that we can get close again! Also a big hug going out to my girl Jessica from Just a Book Lover !  My gosh this girl makes me smile. She came to me with blogging questions and my gosh I hope I steered her right! She also is so intuitive, and knows just the right time to send me super sweet tweets to get me in a bette...

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 2 )

See my response to challenge #1  HERE 2. What's your bedtime reading ritual? I don't really have a set ritual. Of course I always want to read before going to bed. But that doesn't always work out.  Sometimes the book bores me  and I get sidetracked by the TV show playing in the background ( most recently that has been Tudors. )  I can't always read before bed. Sometimes I'm just plain exhausted. After work and chores and trying to wrap my brain around everything else in my life. I just crash.  Sometimes I don't even want to read * GASP * Did I just say that!? My guy and I have TV shows we watch together, sometimes we just watch until we fall asleep. Fallen Skies, Amazing Race, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, Big Bang Theory. The list goes on. Since my Guy is not a big bookworm like me, I enjoy getting to cuddle up with him after a long day and just watch TV till I fall asleep.  .. Sometimes he falls asleep before, I turn off the TV, Pull out my book and try t...

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge ( Day 1 )

Ok, So.. Day 1. 15 Confessions... This was actually pretty hard for me! I'm pretty upfront about stuff.. So I tried to think of confessions that I hadn't posted everywhere else. Everyone knows I have a TBR pile problem. It's never ending. And now thanks to ebooks and friends who gift things... I have over 200 books i'm supposed to read that I actually own o.O.. But I decided to share some other stuff.. so here it goes 1. I started reading Paranormal romances when I was 15. My favorites were Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan and J.R. Ward. I had no shame, I read them in the hallways at school, and got many a funny look from my teachers. Sherrilyn Kenyon is still my favorite Paranormal Romance author 2. My Grammy gave me the Clan of the Cave Bear series when I was in... i think 8th grade - hadn't even had my first kiss! - She later remembered the very.... detailed.. sex scenes and was extremely embarrassed. ( Paranormal romances have nothing on those >.< ) The ...
