 Synopsis via Goodreads:

Torn between two destinies…

Claire is having the perfect sixteenth birthday. Her pool party is a big success, and gorgeous Matthew keeps chatting and flirting with her as if she’s the only girl there. But that night, she discovers something that takes away all sense of normalcy: she’s a werewolf.

As Claire is initiated into the pack of female werewolves, she must deal not only with her changing identity, but also with a rogue werewolf who is putting everyone she knows in danger. Claire’s new life threatens her blossoming romance with Matthew, whose father is leading the werewolf hunt. Now burdened with a dark secret and pushing the boundaries of forbidden love, Claire is struggling to feel comfortable in either skin. With her lupine loyalty at odds with her human heart, she will make a choice that will change her forever….

This book sat on my TBR pile for along time because I thought the title was a reference to Twilight.  Yes, the song Claire de Lune is in Twilight but much to my shocking knowledge this book has nothing to do with VAMPIRES,  it is about werewolves.   Claire de Lune means moonlight in French.  Just one more way Twilight has led me astray....

I always find it interesting to know the logistics of the supernatural creatures in each book.  How are they created, how often do they change, what are the pack rules, and can someone be changed by being bit?  Given the sea of books about werewolves, I was entirely surprised that Christine Johnson had created a unique werewolf race.  You will have to read it to find about them but it is worth it!

I also find it completely weird that the synopsis does not hint at the best part of the book.  The mystery!!! There is a rogue werewolf in the area that jeopardizes the safety of the pack and no one knows the identity.  Had I known that this book was such a thriller, I would have picked it up much earlier.  I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know the identity of the rouge.  Christine Johnson does such a great job of leading the reader to question multiple characters in the book.  Are they the rouge?  I don't know if anyone has read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn but I read the entire book thinking it was one character and in the end bam, the unthinkable!   I had a very similar experience with Claire de Lune.
