Review: F*ck Love - Tarryn Fisher

F*ck Love

Review: F*ck Love - Tarryn Fisher - January 2016
Have you ever read a book that is confusing and odd and even after you finish it, you are still left wondering what you read or the point of the story? As readers who have read Tarryn Fisher's books before, you know that they can often be mindf*ck novels and they are twisted. This book is one that I have had on my Kindle for a while and cleaning up my device, I figured to read it since this week has been a hard reading week since not a lot seemed to grab my interest. This book starts with a double date of Kit and his partner Della and Helena and Neil.  Kit and Helena are standing in line waiting for their food when Kit hands Helena a crayon, this sends her into an alternative universe where she is with Kit and they have two beautiful children. During the dream, Helena starts to feel a strong love for Kit but of course, she wakes up to realize it was just a dream. The feelings and the yearning desire for the life she had in the future starts to affect her present reality and as each day passes she finds herself falling more and more in love with Kit who is still dating happily her best friend Della. No matter how hard Helena tries to push down the idea of her and Kit, she can't and it gets to a point where she has to disappear - it's the only way she can move on but as life would have it, every decision she makes still involves indirectly or directly with Kit. Can Helena move on from her obsession or will the need for love and with Kit drive her crazy? Is Love an illusion we build up for ourselves, the perfect romance and soulmate? Or is it simply a need to say F*ck Love and go with the flow in order to move on and make ourselves happy.
